We humans are composed of a multitude of components. On top of that, we create complex, integrated systems with humans at their center - systems like communities, organizations, and teams. When these systems and their components are in harmony and working well together, we experience ease, creativity, and connection. There is clarity around purpose and direction along with the energy to take action. We sense beauty and create with intention.
This describes a state of coherence where the components are energetically aligned and in rhythm. In this state, life energy is available to co-create the desired future. In this state, individuals feel fulfilled.
In contrast, when there is disharmony in and amongst these systems, more energy is required for them to operate in the desired manner. Underlying the disharmony is friction and resistance that leads to energy depletion, lack of connection, and breakdowns.
This describes a state of incoherence where less life energy is available for creative endeavors. In this state, emotions are repressed or expressed in a destructive manner leading to unresolved conflicts and resentment.
When individuals experience coherence or incoherence consistently for long periods of time, that becomes their new normal or their ‘baseline’ experience. This, in turn, creates their filter for how they experience the world. Those with a coherent baseline naturally feel connected and easily see the beauty in others. They are creative and can feel at peace and fulfilled. Those with an incoherent baseline feel separated from others and see what’s wrong. They regularly feel anxious and dissatisfied with their circumstances.
What’s your baseline?
Developing our innate capability to create coherency in ourselves and our relationships helps establish a sense of wholeness and unlocks our purpose along with the creative energy to realize it. We become effective collaborators that seek to improve our circumstances and improve the lives of loved ones.
